Our work depends on great collaborations. Here are a few of the people we love working with:
Our Acoustics work in BC is done in collaboration with engineers and scientists at Cornell University’s Bioacoustics Research Program, led by Prof Christopher Clark. Next, we plan to compare notes with our American colleagues at Beam Reach. We are currently screening our recordings for whale and dolphin calls for a study we’re doing in collaboration with Dr John Ford at Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
Our study on Dolphins builds on an extraordinary database painstakingly built up by our good friend and neighbour, Dr Alexandra Morton. We are very grateful to The SeaDoc Society for their generous support of our dolphin project.
A lot of the work we do on Human impacts on dolphins is done in partnership with Dr David Lusseau in Aberdeen and Dr David Bain.
Our marine mammal Energetics studies emerged from Rob’s affiliation with the Marine Mammal Research Unit at the University of British Columbia.
We recently finished examining decades’ worth of data on killer whale habitat use collected by Ken Balcomb at Center for Whale Research.
We are currently working on a great study of humpback whales on BC’s north coast with Cetacealab and Gitga’at First Nation in Hartley Bay, BC.
Our work on killer whales in Robson Bight is conducted in partnership with Cetus Research and Conservation.
Our project logos were designed by Sandy Buckley
And our website was designed by the clever team at Sarah Bray Studios.
